Excursion – Kórnik

Our guided tour will cover the castle interiors with its unique Mauritanian Hall housing an impressive collection of 16th and 17^th C. Polish militaria. You will have a chance to see the famous Polish hussar armour with a characteristic feather wing, which has become an icon of Polish cavalry.
Next on the itinerary is the Kórnik Arboretum – a 30-hectare botanical garden displaying around 3000 species of trees, bush and vines. Top peculiarities include: swamp cypress – a tree with protruding air roots, native to swampy southern states in USA, or a willow growing pear-like fruits. With our international conference group, the walk along the “Trees of the World” route will certainly be a very interesting experience.
The final treat will be a 40-minute motorboat cruise across Kórnickie Lake, giving you a unique chance to admire the castle from the lake’s perspective.
